News has reached Ashbourne to the effect that Private Thomas Hudson, of the 3rd Middlesex Regiment, was killed in a bayonet charge at Hill 60, on July 23rd. Private Hudson was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hudson, of Union-street, and two of his brothers are serving in the forces. Sergeant William Hudson of the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry has been twice wounded and is now on furlough. Private George Hudson of the 11th Batt. Notts and Derby, is at the Dardanelles.

ASHBOURNE SOLDIER KILLED

As announced in last week’s issue, Private Thomas Hudson, of the 3rd Middlesex Regiment, was killed at Hill 60, a short time ago. Private Hudson, who leaves a widow and one child, residing at Tideswell, was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Hudson, of Union-street, Ashbourne. He had been at the front about four months.
